Are you a concerned parent of a school-age child with special needs that believes the school district may be violating your child’s civil rights due to the closure of schools during the COVID-19 epidemic? Did you know the school district must provide accessible distance learning options to the child during this unprecedented time so long as the school continues to offer education services?
With the Governor’s Executive Order prohibiting in-person instruction in Colorado’s primary and secondary schools through the end of the 2019-2020 school year, many parents and students alike are left wondering what the Summer and Fall semesters look like for Colorado students.

Each districts’ websites contain important information for parents and students to bring clarity and reduce the uncertainty during these challenging times.
For summer programming, Denver Public Schools has announced summer classes will also be held remotely and all summer camps are canceled. Please check with your local school district for information on the status of summer programming in your area.
