David E. Little is a seasoned, well-rounded attorney with a different perspective that will get you through the crisis that has come upon you or your entity. From a varied legal position to a world and spiritual view that is borne out of chaos, you have got an attorney that will stand with you through thick and thin. With integrity, empathy, and care, he will practice with your or your company’s legal interests at heart.
David E. Little attended the University of Texas for undergraduate studies and law school, graduating in 1989 with a History degree, and in 1992 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was a Marine Judge Advocate from 1993-1996, then returned to Austin and joined the firm of Brown McCarroll & Oaks Hartline, L.L.P. There his practice focused primarily on medical malpractice, products liability, insurance defense, and toxic torts. He joined Germer Gertz Beaman & Brown, L.L.P. in January 2000, and became a partner with the firm in 2002. There, he had a general civil litigation practice, with a focus on medical malpractice, employment litigation defense, construction law, and estate planning. David became an Of Counsel in 2012 and left the firm in 2017. He joined the Feldmann Nagel firm as Of Counsel in 2012 and has been the Texas presence – with other lawyers – since that time. His legal practice now includes administrative defense of doctors and nurses, construction litigation, and estate planning and litigation. His trial experience includes both civil and criminal matters, and he has participated in the defense of major products liability, commercial litigation, and toxic tort cases throughout the state of Texas.
In the military, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 1991 and served on active duty from 1993 to 1996, and in 2005. He left the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2016. As a Marine Judge Advocate, he defended more than 100 Marines before courts-martial and administrative discharge hearings. He also commanded an infantry company in the Reserves, Wpns Co. 1/23 from 1999-2000. In 2005, David was recalled to active duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and deployed to Iraq as an operational lawyer with the 2d Marine Division in western Al Anbar province. As a result of the stroke and complications from it, David left the Marine Corps in 2016.
The stroke that hit David in 2008 has changed his view and his perspective. While still practicing law part-time, he has gone to seminary, with a Masters of Divinity (“MDiv”) at Logsdon Seminary in San Antonio in 2017, and is currently doing a Doctor of Ministry program (“DMin”) there. David is currently set to graduate with a DMin in January 2022. He also did a Clinical Pastoral Education Residency as a Chaplain in 2018-2019 at the San Antonio VA Medical Center and is now practicing as a Chaplain at a hospital in Austin.
David has been selected a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2006 and 2007. David is licensed to practice in the Supreme Court of Texas, all Texas Courts of Appeals, all Texas trial courts, all United States District Courts in Texas, and all U. S. Military courts. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Association, and Judge Advocate's Association.
