Leela Madan is a licensed patent attorney with extensive experience in patent prosecution, specifically involving engineering, technologies, and chemistry. She specializes in working with business owners, from solo practitioners to large corporations, to not only protect their intellectual property, but also using it as a way to grow their businesses through franchising and licensing.
Leela is also highly experienced with U.S. trademark practices, including prosecuting matters before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), conducting regular policing to identify infringers, defending Operation and Cancellation proceedings, and obtaining trademark registrations. Her professional experience includes patent work in entertainment, media, consumer goods, and the upstream oil and gas industry.
Leela earned her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. She is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
