Carl E. Stahl focuses his practice of law almost exclusively in the area of courtroom litigation. Practically all Mr. Stahl's experience since being admitted to Colorado Bar in 1985 has been focused on winning cases at the trial and appellate levels.
Mr. Stahl's litigation practice encompasses actions in both Federal and State courts in all areas including: criminal defense, personal injury, products liability, civil rights and constitutional issues, hunting, fishing, and wildlife violations, military justice, wrongful death, malpractice, breach of contract, family law, juvenile law, landlord-tenant, debtor-creditor, construction litigation, fraud litigation, and others.
Mr. Stahl practices in all Colorado State Courts, the Colorado Federal District Court, the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to practice Pro Hac Vice in the New York Supreme Court, Kansas District Court, Montana District Court, and Federal District Courts in South Dakota, North Dakota, New York, Tennessee, Georgia, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.
Mr. Stahl is an aggressive litigator with a chess-player's mentality. He believes that his superior results flow from deep case planning and preparation.
Mr. Stahl has over 24 years experience as a criminal defense and plaintiff's trial lawyer, with the additional insight he gained while serving as the Chief Deputy District Attorney in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Mr. Stahl has lectured at the collegiate level in the area of criminal law.
While most of Mr. Stahl's clients have been individuals, he has also represented corporations, businesses, banks, dealers associations, physicians groups, bail bondsmen associations, real estate companies, and political action groups, etc.
In addition to his courtroom experience, Mr. Stahl has successfully prosecuted numerous criminal and civil appeals.
