Biography:
Danielle L. Moore is a Senior Associate in the Denver office of Feldmann Nagel, LLC, and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Tribe. Danielle has practiced exclusively in the area of domestic relations for almost five years, where she routinely handles complex and high-dispute divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, paternity, child support, post-decree, contempt, registration of foreign decree, Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act, and civil protection order cases.
Danielle possesses an extensive trial and litigation background having served as both a Deputy State Public Defender for the Colorado Public Defender's Office and as an Assistant Attorney General for the Colorado Attorney General's Office. In those positions, Danielle handled criminal and civil cases at both the trial and appellate level and she otherwise represented individuals and public entities in almost every state and legal forum in Colorado, from small claims court to the Tenth Circuit. Danielle also received extensive training during her government service, including completing the Public Defender Office's boot camp program, as well as receiving basic trial skills and deposition training at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Danielle currently serves on the state-wide Access to Justice Commission as one of twenty members dedicated to developing and implementing policy initiatives aimed at expanding access to and enhancing the quality of justice in civil matters. Danielle also remains a Board Member of Metro Volunteer Lawyers, and the Colorado Bar Foundation invited Danielle to become a Bar Fellow in 2011. The Colorado Bar Association also selected Danielle to be a member of the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training Class of 2011.
Danielle attended Dartmouth College where she received the Dean's Prize, an award presented to the Senior who, through personal effort, contributed most significantly to the quality of life on campus. Danielle completed graduate work in American History at the University of Michigan before attending law school at the University of Arizona. At the University of Arizona, Danielle was one of only ten students to "write-on" to the Arizona Law Review and she also completed a federal judicial clerkship while interning for the Federal Public Defender's Office in the Capital Habeas Unit working on death penalty appeals.
Danielle remains particularly focused upon using her litigation skills – including her negotiation skills – in family law cases. She desires to help people navigate the often complex and unfamiliar landscape involved in domestic relations law, while preserving their dignity. Danielle also enjoys assisting clients with complicated procedural issues, including those involving registering out-of-state divorce decrees and custody determinations and inter-state child custody disputes.
Danielle spends her free time with her family, as well as running, playing basketball, bowling, reading, and seeing movies.
