Daniel has been in continuous active law practice in Denver since 1996. A native of New York City, Daniel was drawn to Colorado by the Rocky Mountains, fresh air and the outdoor lifestyle. Upon graduating from Cornell University Daniel moved to Breckenridge to pursue his passions for skiing and mountain biking. That one-season excursion on the way to law school turned into two seasons and a commitment to make Colorado his home. Attending Brooklyn Law School solidified that the Mountain West was home. Daniel transferred to the University of Colorado School of Law and matriculated in Boulder.

Mr. Markofsky first joined a general practice downtown Denver firm, and then a boutique Cherry Creek real estate law practice, where he was mentored by the late Ronald H. Thompson. From there Mr. Markofsky opened his own practice in North Denver. It was during that time that Daniel was honored as a Super Lawyers – Rising Star and conceived and developed an infill triplex while practicing law full time.

When not working, you will find Daniel active on civic issues facing the City and County of Denver with an emphasis on zoning and planning issues, including having co-authored an ordinance regarding re-zonings, as well as skiing, camping, exploring the West by Land Cruiser, taking pictures, spending time with good friends, traveling the world visiting family, and tinkering in the garage.
